First Internet Film Launches in UK

This evening was the third of four showings of my films at Dreamland Theater. There were about 12-15 people who were there to see Cosmos Songs, my documentary on the music of Sun Ra. Nice little buzz in the air afterward as people chatted excitedly about Sun Ra. Evidently the film went over well.

He spent decades enthusiastically investigating the meaning of life with the boundary-breaking, consciousness-expanding assistance of hallucinogenic drugs. It seems only natural that when "Mademoiselle Cancer moved in to share [his] body," he seized the opportunity to examine the nature of death ... and throw a big party. He didn't, as threatened, commit suicide on the Net or have his head cut off and frozen, but instead surrounded himself with good friends at an extended wake in his Beverly Hills home, where he drifted peacefully away.

Stoned and ill in middle years Can't quite seem to change the gears. Just like travelling straight up hill Ain't reached the top but soon I will.

I am feeling the flu-like effects of chemo today. This in spite of the decadron and anzemet (sp?). My nephew Aaron came into town last night from Chicago to view my films. We then conversed for some hours last night and again today. Despite the chemo effects I enjoyed the conversation very much. We connected well while discussing literature and politics and other subjects. It was for me a most memorable visit.
